The maps are licensed by Garmin for this specific device ID and it is not allowed to be altered or used in different GPS devices. This is a used GPS so there are some minor scratches on the screen, these are more visible when the GPS is OFF, not really visible when it's ON. Please look at the very last photo to see these scratches. European maps covers all Europe including Scandinavian countries and UK which are shown in square boxes on the GPS screen in photos below.
